"Nowy Stary Młyn Mikołajki"
The pride of the Marina Nova company is the “Nowy Stary Młyn Mikołajki” (New Old Mikołajki Mill) project, which involves the restoration and revitalisation of a former granary (mill) in Mikolajki.
Thanks to our efforts, commitment, and substantial financial contribution, the old mill has been given a new lease of life. The company is currently working on the complete revitalization of the historic building and its surrounding area, gradually transforming it into a modern commercial hub that will combine the expectations of the inhabitants of the region and of Mikołajki itself with the history of the place.
The first phase of the project has already been completed, marked by the opening of the first establishment on the premises, a new Rossmann store. In the future, the residents of Mikołajki will have access to numerous other service and retail outlets in this area.
The second phase of the revitalisation project is scheduled for 2024.
The brick mill was constructed on Kolejowa Street in the early years of the 20th century.
During World War I, Mikołajki became part of a pan-German aid campaign for East Prussia and received 90,000 marks for reconstruction under the patronage of the Pomeranian city of Choszczno; among other purposes, this funding was dedicated to the reopening of the mill.
The late 19th and early 20th centuries mark the period when the cultural landscape of Mikołajki, preserved to this day, was shaped. During that time, the mill served as a hub for social life, where, among other things, commercial transactions were conducted. Thanks to the company's efforts, the restored interior of the mill will once again become a gathering place, preserving traditions and reinforcing the local and regional identity. It will be filled with life and once again be transformed into a commercial and service point, as part of the “Nowy Stary Młyn Mikołajki” (New Old Mikołajki Mill) project.
